It's been to long

I can't even believe how long its been since I last posted, but I am happy to say I was excited when I logged on and saw a bunch of new posts from JD. I was in need of some new recommendations. I'm going to have to check out the new Janet Evanovich books and Dan Brown book. Looking forward to it. Well I have definitely been on the reading frenzy but mostly from books ya'll had recommended before. I finished the dirty Dark Hunter series Danny recommended a long time ago, which by the way are steamy, sexy and surprisingly good. I also started reading the True Blood series and am now on book three but have to get the next few.

As of right now I am on a big Nora Roberts kick. Ya I know romance novels blah blah blah, but really I can't seem to stop checking out her books, there great love stories that always have a happy ending. Right now I'm reading one of her books called The Donovan Legacy. It's three stories in one book about three cousins who are witches. Their powers are different but of course they find love and with love comes the struggles with their powers interfering. So far I've read the first two stories and I like what I see. Check it out.

Vanishing Acts

Have you ever had a book just sitting on your shelf that just stared at you? And while it stared at you, you could hear it saying, "Just pick me up and read me. I promise you will love me...forget all these other books." Maybe you haven't but I just did. I was given this book probably two years ago, not knowing what it was about. And if you know me...I'm the type of person he doesn't read the jacket of the book because I want to actually be surprised when the plot takes off at the end of the first chapter. It's like with Twilight, I didn't know they were vampires till she found out. If I read the jacket...well I would have known all along. Anyway, that's neither nor there.

So. This 'Vanishing Acts' by Jodi Picoult. Uh-mazing...in case you didn't realize that I loved this book. It's about a woman named Delia, who is raised in New Hampshire next door to her two best friends, Eric and Fitz. Of course they are both in love with her but she really has only noticed Eric in that way...he is her fiance and her babies daddy. There are circumstances that kept her from marrying him for a long time, but at a point she finally said yes because he finally became the man he needed to be for her. Her world is fun and basically perfect...she is a search and rescue person with her bloodhound. Reality hits after some findings from her best friend Fitz and when the police show up hauling her dad away to Arizona...the place where he kidnapped her from 28 years ago.

Why did he do it? Well, that's part of the awesomeness of this story. The other thing is this is a love triangle...and we all know how I feel about those. She doesn't choose who I want her to but I understand why...no I'm not giving up that information so don't ask.

This is mainly focused around the trial and preparation for it. And each main character is given his own Point of View, so you feel more for each character. You don't have to wonder what someone is thinking, because it is beautifully written around each character. Really I love this book. Two thumbs up...5 stars. Whatever.

Lastly, since book stores always sell music I want to tell you about this greatness that I discovered. I was recently asked by someone who sings that "Trouble" song in the Target commercial with the dog...well with my persistence I found it and his name is Ray LaMontagne and I can't stop listening to his music.

Suspensful Mysteries!!

I recently had a few books dropped on my front porch from a friend and most of them were the thrilling, everyone-is-a-suspect, types of books. So far I have sifted through two titles, Chosen to Die and The Front.

Chosen to Die, by Lisa Jackson, is about a serial killer who captures Detective Regan Pescoli. The Star-Crossed Killer, has kidnapped injured women, tends them until they are healthy again, then photographs them and leaves them to die of exposure. The story continues with a boyfriend who is trying to find the killer on his own while the police team is trying to do the same. It's fun and interesting....and yes, I was able to figure out the bad guy...but I attribute that to the many CSI's and Law and Orders that I keep up with. I believe this book has a companion, Left to Die, but I haven't read that.

Yesterday I started a book called The Front by Patricia Cornwell...and I finished it this morning. It is a short easy read that deals with a conspiracy theory of solving a murder from 1962. There are fun side twists along with this story as well. There isn't much to say in describing this book without leading you to the end. It is up-to-date with terrorists and presidents.

Books and Projects

Hey guys...I have been reading some more...I guess I really just don't seem to stop. First let me tell you guys that I added a few little things to our blog...I know a few people who actually look at our blog and our book reviews so I figured I would make it easy for people to buy them if they wanted. Anyway...that is what all this crazy advertizage stuff is. Without further ado...

A week or so ago I read the 3rd installment in the Robert Langdon Trilogy. The Lost Symbol was just as exciting as the first two books. I haven't read a book like this in a long time...so to say that I felt like I was being chased or should be chasing something for about a week would be putting my feelings mildly. So. The Lost Symbol is another loosely "religious" based book where Langdon is forced to look inside his beliefs of whether or not there is a higher power out there. Of course the Masons are involved...there is a crazy bad guy...and I mean this literally. I am terrified to see what this guy will look like in the movie. And more importantly there is a girl for Langdon to be almost sweet on.

It takes place in DC. So like the other two books you will be wanting to take a detailed tour all over Washington when you are through with it. I highly recommend it like I do his other books. Enjoy!

After that I read Time Traveler's Wife, a) because Danni recommended it and b) because I wanted to read it before I saw the movie...I will let you guys look at her review...but basically you will WANT to read this. I cried. I laughed. And it was perfect.

Lastly, I read Metro Girl. This is another title by Janet Evanovich and basically I have decided that she is my favorite author. If I were to have been reading this book outloud...I would have embarrassed myself. Seriously. I can't tell you how many times I laughed out loud. Enough to make Maddi jump in my arms every five minutes.

Metro Girl is about "Barney" a fake blonde from up north who is going to go search for her "missing" brother in Florida. Barney was raised in a garage and watching NASCAR with her family...so when she gets to Florida she is surprised to find out that a big hunky NASCAR driver is also looking for her brother because brother, Wild Bill, stole his boat. The story moves on from there with funny twists and turns. There are great sidekick characters that had me rolling and the bad guys were fantastic. I can't say enough about this book. If you like Stephanie Plum you will love Barney too. There is a companion book to this that I want called Motor Mouth and I will let y'all know when that is read as well. Ok then. That's all for now. Miss you girls....and here's the link as well :)

Ketchup :)

ello ladies! so this is just a hi howareya! and i have been reading a few titles that y'all have suggested. just a few titles that i have enjoyed lately...well the 4th Vamp Acad book came out and it was fantastic...danni is now reading those, and soon i will be sending them out to val...kris if you are interested...steal them from her :)...val was also amazing enough to send me the Lovely Bones and Baby Proof...very good if y'all haven't read them yet (danni, kris, and kellianne)......and danni gave me this book

it's called Lovehamptons...and it was cute and fun and i really liked it. it's about a woman who goes through a 2 year funk after her boyfriend surprisingly dumps her...and her closest friends have an intervention and set her up in a singles house in the Hamptons that she goes to every weekend of that summer. she also gets made over by a reality tv show...and really it's just fun. read it.

k the next book i read was Naughty Neighbor, by Janet Evanovich. Also fun...short...it took me 3 hrs to read it. And since I know how much y'all like stephanie plum (or atleast i do) y'all would enjoy this too!! the funny woman character .........(going off on a minor tangent.....i can't remember the characters names for any of these books...at all! i'm ashamed, but i have been breezing through books left and right and all i can remember is plot lines. sorry. kthxbi).........as i was saying the funny woman character shares a duplex like place in d.c. with a man she has never met...yet each are annoyed witheachother because of what they hear through eachothers walls. well when they finally come face to face there is obvious attraction that they keep hidden...i'm sure you know where this story is going...anyway, she works for a congressman and is fired when they think she keeps company with this man....the man who has uncovered some secret that a few politician are trying to cover up....so yeah, it's about them figuring out what is being kept hidden behind the curtain.

lastly the Shack. great book. covers alot of ground over how Christians view the trinity. it's more than that...i don't know really how to explain it without either taking it lightly or not doing it justice....and so you know, it's a fictional story...it isn't a "how to be a christian" book...it has scandal, sorrow, fellowship....ya know what...just go buy it.

so yeah i was trying to read another story but i think i'm just going to go back to new moon. :/

A new Vampire series

yo-ho! (said in a pirat-ey tone) I have read more books...it's amazing what breast feeding gives you time to do (yes it just typed that out loud). anyway i finished that other charlaine harris series (which is great (and what's with all of my words in parenthesis?)). anyway...here is another series. yes it involves vampires...and yes the covers of the book look like some cheesy teenage romance...(which it kind of is) but it is way good!! one of my pitcher's mom's gave me the book and i just ran with it...reading each in a day or two.

Anyway let me give you the rundown. Rose is the main character. She is snarky, sarcastic, and kind of a badass (i'm assuming only week look at this site b/c i just cussed and i don't want to offend others...but really its the only way to describe rose (i really did try to think of another word)). k so she is a guardian in training and in real life for her bff who is a vampire princess...there is really more to it than that but it takes a fourth of a book to explain it...so i would rather y'all read it for yourself. so yeah...i have the books. danni has the 1st but i may steal it back to send to val...and whatnot b/c i gave danni a grip of books that she can read instead :)

Vamp Academy is book 1. Frostbite book 2. Shadow Kiss is 3 and...the 4th comes out in 14 days (i'm excited (really))!

Grave Sight

omigosh...so i read this book...
really, an actual book with pages binded together...it wasn't on a computer screen and it didn't have pictures like all the books i read to Jaxon. so yeah. this book is called GRAVE SIGHT. it is by the beloved Charlaine Harris, who also writes the A-mazing True Blood Series. And this is just as fun.
So here's the dish...Harper Connelly was struck by lightning when she was younger and was given a gift...or a curse, however you figure. Anyway, she can sense when she is around a dead corpse...and not only can she sense that but she can also see their last moments of life. She has turned her gift into her job, and basically people call on her to find missing bodies...or to see maybe what had killed a person.
of course it's not so simple...people think she's evil, or a freak...and it seems like these are all going to be the murder mystery type. It's fun, cute, quirky. i read this book in 2 days...yes i am a stay at home mom who does practically nothing...but still. easy reads, and totally fun. pick it up. i already started book 2, grave surprise...
i love how sometimes i decide to capitalize and other times i don't...it happens when i constantly email and text from a phone instead of this keyboard. anyway, love you guys and miss you. BCB fa life!

I'm Finally Done

Yes it has been 4 entire months but I am finally done with all 16 books of the Stephanie Plum series. I have no idea how JD possibly finished all these books in just a few weeks (or was it one week?). I have no clue either way. I do have to say, I really liked the way things are going but I wish Stephanie would make up her damn mind already. If you read the in-between series there is another hunk that comes into play, as if hot Morelli and super sexy Ranger isn't enough. Yikes!!! there's just to many options.

Any way these are the books that have been on my night stand for the last 4 months. I think I should get some kind of reward for powering through and finishing them. But then JD should get a gold star for finishing them so quickly. So what's on ya'lls night stands? Anything worth reading? What to expect when expecting, (I hope :)  is being read by Danny and maybe what to expect when expecting part 2! I can't wait for the new babies!!!!

Miss and love you guys!!!!

If You Give A Mouse A Cookie

Yes, I am recommending a children's book. I love this children's book and one of my friends just gave it to little Jolee along with a couple of cute outfits. So naturally, I sat in Bryan's lap last night and read it to him and Jolee since she can hear us now. And technically this is the first book she has ever had read to her.

Nicholas Sparks by far is one of the best authors for romance; his love stories are phenomenal and also heart wrenching. Again and again I find myself crying my eyes out after reading his novels. They're so amazing and so real because they leave you with real life situations that otherwise would not be thought about. I just got done with his novel The Choice and boy was it a good one! The main character Travis Parker has everything a man could want; a good job, loyal friends a great home in a small town and good surroundings. He doesn't have any real need in being in a relationship because he thinks it may cramp his lifestyle. This is until he meets his new neighbor, Gabby, a red head who is aggravated by Travis' free lifestyle. Needless to say an amazing love begins to unfold which leads them to some important choices that need to be made. Quite frankly Travis is the man of my dreams. He's adventurous, athletic and loves the outdoors and apparently he's hot too, that alone should get you to read this great book. Definitely a great love story like all of Sparks' others.

"Anyone But You" by Jennifer Crusie

Ok I randomly picked this book up at the library because a basset hound was on the front. Well it turns out its a basset/beagle mix (like Mally) who brings a 40 year old divorcee and a 30 year old bachelor doctor together. It is such a good romance and its only 200 pages long. JD you would really really really like this one. TRUST ME! Go get it at the library. It is so cute! The end of the book is GREAT!

New Books - Kind of Steamy and Risque

Ok girls, I have read two books in this series called "The Dark Hunter" Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. And let me tell you - they are steamy romance novels. And by steamy I mean STEAAAMMMYYY. I debated on whether or not to tell you about them even. But I could not help myself after the last one because they are SO GOOD! Bear with me here...

The first one in the series is called "Fantasy Lover" - I mean it has sex-filled romance novel all over it right. Well, it is about a Greek warrior named Julian who was banished to a page in a book for the rest of his life unless summoned by someone who only wants him as a "sex slave" for a month at a time. Yeah - crazy. Well a girl named Grace is best friends with a crazy palm reader named Selena. Well Selena had picked the book up in an old book store and figured out the legend behind it. okingly she and Grace get drunk on wine and pizza one night and summon Julian. And he actually shows up and Grace freaks and wants nothing to do with him. Well, the story starts from there and is such a good easy romance novel.

The second book is called "Night Pleasures" (I mean couldn't the titles be a little less embarassing?) It is about Julian's best friend from ancient Greece named Kyrian of Thrace. Well HE was punished for eternity by agreeing to become a "Dark-Hunter". And can you guess what a dark hunter is ladies??? Thats right - a vampire. There are four types of dark hunters, and Kyrian's duty is to protect humans from the bad dark-hunters. Well he wakes up in a cement room hand-cuffed to none other than Selena's sister, Amanda. Remember Grace's crazy palm reader friend. And that is where their story starts.

They are very easy reads! There are like 17 of them or something. And the characters in each book are all tied together somehow. And don't worr, the titles eventually get a little less embarassing to read in public. Haha!

sup....

so.. just wanted to post something to say hey to my TCBC bitches!!

i don't have anything to recommend, unless you plan on taking up staring at computer screens for hours on end and worshipping people that are not published... i have an obsession with reading fanfictions.. which are just stories written by.. yeah.. you guessed it.. fans.. and some of the stories just amazing! they're not all about exactly twilight's world.. i like reading the stories where all the characters in twilight are human.. it's interesting to see where different authors take the characters.. it's fun.. yes.. i know.. you don't have to tell me.. i have no life. :(

but yeah.. miss you all! and i hope everyone is doing well!

love you girls..
it has nothing to do with the BC, but.. it was just too cute not to share!!! i miss having my hamster.. she was such a cute little critter.. i can't even count how many times i lost her in the house! hahahaha..

Okay, so it feels like forever since I last recommended a book. I just recently started the recommended books by Danny, the Stephanie Plum series. I am on the 3rd book Three To Get Deadly, and let me tell you, I sure hope Plum stays with Joe Morelli because he is hot stuff!!!! Before starting the Plum series I read a really good book called the Glass Castle, (also recommended by Oprah a while back). It is a really short Memoir about a girl named Jeannette Walls and the life experiences, adventures and downfalls she has experienced in her life. Her parents were nonconformist and lived as nomads, moving among the southwest desert towns, camping in mountains and sleeping in cars. It's her true-life story growing up and how she made a life for herself. It is truly an interesting and amazing story that is incredibly humbling. Her story is of triumph against all odds, but also a tender, moving story of unconditional love in a family that despite the many flaws gave her the determination to start a successful life on her own.

Hello Book Clubbers!

So, I have read two books that I think you should all know about.

First, I read the second book in the Sookie Stackhouse series called "Living Dead in Dallas", and it was AMAZING! You girls really need to start these books. Oh how I love them.

Secondly, I read a book called The Sugar Queen, and it was SO cute. The girl in the story is thirty and still lives at home taking care of her mother and LOVES sweets. It is such a good love story! (And kind of paranormal too by the way). It sounds corny but it is such a good read. And really quick too. Take a look at it because I loved it!
